People seem to be so desperate for a meal that robbing a delivery dude seems like an easy and viable option these days.
On Monday, a Checkers Sixty60 delivery driver’s usual delivery turned into a frightening ordeal when he suddenly found himself being robbed at gunpoint.
In a video that has since gone viral, the driver is seen waiting for his customers to come out and pick up their parcels when two men appear around the corner to rob him at gunpoint.
Sitting on his scooter just outside the destination of his delivery, the delivery man was fixated on his phone when the suspects snuck up behind him, pointed a gun at him, snatched his phone, stole the food bags in the back of the bike’s cargo holder and skedaddle.
The driver barely had time to register what had happened when another man suddenly appeared to snag the remaining parcels, dropping one and leaving it before hurrying off with the other.

The Citizen notes the comments on social media, with some folks raising good points about safety protocols for the driver, while others were concerned about the trauma leaving lasting mental health scars.
@OJS_Phiri said “Every now and then you see these delivery guys waiting at our complex gate. I’d literally drive in and drive out 30 minutes later. You’ll find him STILL waiting,” adding that “It’s so rude & inhumane of customers to keep them waiting as if their deliveries are a surprise.”
When someone agreed, the commenter added that the Checkers Sixty60 app “LITERALLY” notifies a person when the driver is on the way, “But you still make a person wait. A person who still has other deliveries to do. It’s really unfair that we as customers add on to their unpleasant/hostile work environment.”
Someone else advised accordingly:
I use checkers 60 all the time, and when the driver comes to my gate I open for him to park inside and close gate…it always seems to be the same driver….and then he leaves safely straight into the road….love their service
