Reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert just received the most lavish proposal on a hired-out yacht.
She’s been with her partner and ‘best friend’ Enrico Vermaak for almost nine years now, so the question was begging to be popped.
And so the man of the hour popped the question during their romantic sunset cruise on the Mirage catamaran yacht as it sailed from the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
It was the day that the pair were celebrating eight-and-a-half years together, but Natasha seemed completely surprised by the appearance of a ring nonetheless.

The Citizen reported that while the excited bride-to-be said she had suspected that Vermaak would propose soon, he had managed to catch her off guard.
“I thought it might take place at a wine farm on Saturday, but Enrico decided to switch things around and propose during a Friday evening cruise. There were other people on board, and I didn’t see any of my family or friends so I didn’t suspect a thing,” she said.
Vermaak had arranged for a private moment on the yacht’s top deck, with their families hiding downstairs in the kitchen area:
“I was filming content on the front of the yacht when suddenly Enrico was standing there, ready to propose, with our friends and family in tow. I am on cloud nine and so happy. It’s a dream come true!” she added.
She said that she has known for a long time that she and Enrico are life partners, and commended the “perfect” setting, which she said was “so special as both our families and friends had flown down for the occasion”.

SA’s No. 1 lady said she and her fiancé will tie the knot when her Miss South Africa reign is over.
She was crowned Miss South Africa 2023 in August last year. Natasha, who was second runner-up at the 2022 pageant, decided to spend most of her reign focusing on SA projects.
Miss South Africa Organisation CEO Stephanie Weil has since congratulated the couple, noting that “they are going to be very happy together” while adding that making it official in February is pretty appropriate.
And that’s a wrap on the month of love.
