There’s no place like home, but that doesn’t mean SA’s latest sweetheart, Grammy Award-winning Tyla, will be gracing our shores during her upcoming tour.
Local fans hoping to see the singer in action were left vexed after Africa was left off the list of countries she would be performing in. Her world tour dates included the UK, Europe, and North America, but no Mzansi.
Social media’s fawning over the young superstar came to an abrupt halt after the announcement and fans wasted no time tuning the singer.
“Darling, tell your boss, producer, manager, whatever they are called, that they shouldn’t forget about where you come from, and they shouldn’t forget about AFRICA… It’s not only people from other continents that are interested in you… like what y’all doing? I really don’t know what people think of Africa,” a fan commented on Instagram.

Some peeps were a bit more understanding and pointed out that tours ‘have legs’, so the singer might still pop down south once she made enough bank in Europe and America.
“Y’all so dramatic; tours have legs, so maybe the next one will hit your country. Chill,” a fan commented.
Another one said: “I understand there are tour legs, but she couldn’t even start with Africa? They always forget the real ones.”
Tyla Laura Seethal, 22, won a Grammy in the newly introduced category of ‘Best African Music Performance’. Tyla won for her popular amapiano and R&B song, ‘Water’, which gained global popularity by trending on TikTok challenges and topping the charts on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fans are just going to have to wait.
