Red Bull Formula One chief Christian Horner is under investigation after allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ were levelled against him by a female member of staff.

The 50-year-old, who is married to former Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell, and has been Red Bull Racing team principal since 2005, strongly refutes the accusation, commenting: “I completely deny these claims.”

The denials ring a bit hollow considering that Horner was having an affair with the Spice Girl while his ex was pregnant in 2014. Whether ‘inappropriate behaviour’ in this case means ‘attempted affair’ remains to be seen, but Dutch publication De Telegraaf, hinted at “crossing boundaries” concerning a female employee within the team.

Certainly smells like an affair to us, and the relationship between a leopard and its spots is well-known. However, if it’s more sinister than that, Horner probably deserves whatever is coming his way.

According to The Times, the allegations were made by a female colleague, which prompted Red Bull to take immediate action. A spokesperson for Red Bull told PA: “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation.

“This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister. The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”

Despite the ongoing investigation, rumours are flying behind the scenes, suggesting that Horner has been “friendly advised to voluntarily resign” from his position as team principal for Red Bull.

Horner was awarded a CBE for his services to motorsport in the New Year Honours List and has led Red Bull to 7 Drivers’ Championships and 6 Constructors’ Championships during his 19 years at the helm.

It seems however as if he has less success keeping it in his pants, and it’s only a matter of time before the British press begins calling him Christian Horny. Meanwhile, the F1 community waits to see what happens next.

Despite the issues at work, the guy still has to deal with Ginger Spice at home. Eish.
