The former Top Billing presenter, Jeannie D and her gorg – but hitherto unknown – partner tied the knot in an intimate and luxury-looking wedding on Friday, 26 January.
On the rooftop of a Cape Town hotel overlooking the ocean, the wedding looked like something straight from an episode of the luxury lifestyle show that made Jeannie D a favourite among South Africans.
In pictures and videos posted by guests on Instagram, the hostess with the most and her mystery man said their “I do’s” in a villa-style wedding, with news publications all over the nation eager to share a sneak peek into some of the details of the glam day.

For the most part, Jeannie D has managed to keep her husband’s identity – known only as “Mr B” – out of the spotlight, rather choosing to sprinkle a few cryptic posts about him on her social media pages every once in a blue moon:

However, sleuths abound, which means the identity of the mystery man could not be kept secret for all that long. It has been revealed that Jeannie’s new hubby is Cape Town-born businessman Brandon Bekker:
According to The South African, despite Jeannie D’s attempts to keep Brandon’s identity a secret, guests revealed his background: a hot-shot businessman with over two decades of IT investment experience, a former pro rugby player, and a frequent traveller.
According to his LinkedIn, he enjoys “cars, travelling, visiting interesting properties, food, and wine, running, squash, padel tennis (new and love it!), vets rugby, watching sport (F1, golf, tennis, football, rugby) donating to those I can help, and investing in early stage tech companies (with market traction)”.
Well, hello there:
Brandon and Jeannie share similar interests, the report noted, with Brandon currently on an “extended sabbatical”, sparking speculation about the role Jeannie may have played in this decision.
Brandon is a bit of a globetrotter but reckons it’s not all it’s cut out to be:
He told the publication How We Made It In Africa: “Many people think this is glamorous, but this kind of extensive travel isn’t always fun and easy.
“There are no specified working hours in my role. It’s definitely not an eight-to-five gig.”
He is said to have had three job titles recently, which include being the chairman of ITARMI, an on-demand IT service provider; the managing director at Mimecast, a cybersecurity provider; and the managing director at EXCO, an internet solutions provider.
Brandon was also apparently a bit of a pro rugby player:
As a teen, Brandon played alongside former Springbok Percy Montgomery at the South African College High School in Newlands, Cape Town.
He would later advance to provincial, where he made 20 appearances for Western Province between 1998 and 2000.
Hustler and hunk, then.
