A video showing someone making ‘pizza cones’ at a famous restaurant in Las Vegas has left pizza lovers divided, but this is not the first time this dish has gone viral.
People all around the world just love to experiment with everyone’s favourite Italian dish, with some mavericks even putting fruit on pizza. In addition to ‘unique toppings’, people have also gone as far as changing the shape of the traditionally circular treat.
Despite the question of whether it can still be called pizza if it isn’t flat and round, the concept of ‘pizza cones’ went viral in 2021, with a cone made of pizza dough and filled with sauce, cheese and other ingredients. Naturally, some folk went crazy for it, but as with most viral things the ‘pizza cone’ eventually got replaced with other weird food trends. Until now.
A recent video of someone making the snack at a famous restaurant in Las Vegas has taken the internet by storm, racking up more than 30 million views so far. Instagram users seem to still be divided about this viral pizza creation.
While some find the idea extremely tempting, many others have expressed concern about the cone staying intact. Some users also seem to be tired of such experimental pizza versions and pointed out how the entire thing seems to be automated.
“That’s a lot of equipment for a gimmick.”
“I have had these many times. They are amazing! Perfect ratio.”
“Just go eat a traditional pizza, this is ridiculous.”

We have to agree with the sceptics on this one. Pizza should be made by hand, have a round shape, and come from Butler’s Pizza. No substitutes will do.
Butler’s still respects the dough, and we doubt that The Rotherham can fit into a cone.
