The BBC’s coverage of the World Indoor Bowls Championship turned into a smirk-fest after the sound of sex noises was played at full volume throughout the arena.
Perhaps the least sexy sport in the world was interrupted by the sounds of someone in the throes of ecstasy as contender Harry Goodwin stepped up to shoot his shot. Goodwin tried to contain himself, but the wry smile on his face proved he had heard a prank like this before.
The previous ‘prank’ played out during the FA Cup game between Liverpool and Wolves in January 2023, when the same clip was blasted through the PA system. Just as with that incident, the BBC could only lamely apologise for a ‘sound incident’. Dunno, sounded like a fake orgasm to us.
Unfortunately for Goodwin, he lost 2-0 to Stewart Anderson during the Bowls Championship, but by the sounds terminating from the stadium, someone scored somewhere.
Watch the clip below, but be warned, it’s quite hectic sounding, so pop in some headphones or your colleagues are going to look at you funny.
