Cape Town is searching for its very own loved-up version of Banksy.
Frequent visitors to Sea Point Promenade might be familiar with the sight of runners, skateboarders, dogwalkers and dudes doing pull-ups on the monkey bars, but following an article in GoodThingsGuy, Cape Tonians are now also on the lookout for another regular – a mysterious ‘stone artists’ who leaves behind rock-shaped ‘art’ on Sunset Beach almost every night.
Journalist Ashleigh Nefdt notes that the rock formations change as often as the Cape Town weather, meaning it’s not a Casanova tourist’s work, but rather a local resident who uses Sunset Beach as his canvas.
“More often than not, there’s a massive heart to marvel at. These creations happen practically every evening, making them an expected surprise for frequent walkers.”
So far, nobody knows who the person is stacking stones, but it brings a smile to most passersby’s lips, so whoever the ‘stoner’ is, they are spreading much-needed good vibes.
