Seeing as work is a sideline, and we live the holiday, we thought it a good idea to escape the epic traffic jam that is Cape Town in December, and head in a general eastward direction, against the flow, in search of some peace in quite.

What we found near Plettenberg Bay was simply too good not to share, and hence, herewith is our last bit of sage advice for 2023, to those searching for luxury, peace, and a private beach – because what’s the point of a holiday if you can’t have a 2km stretch of pristine coastal wilderness in Plettenberg Bay all to yourself. This magnificent spot can sleep 20 guests and is only minutes away from central Plettenberg Bay

It’s the best of Plettenberg Bay without having to be in Plettenberg Bay. And as far as luxurious accommodations goes, it doesn’t get better. Previously a boutique hotel, the Plettenberg Bay property hosted guests including Nelson Mandela & Richard Branson.

The year was too long to settle for anything less than the best, and life’s too short to not experience the sunsets at luxury accommodations like Rock Pool Villa.
