It looks like another blockbuster battle against the Springboks’ arch-rivals is on the cards for when the Springboks return to action next year, and it could very well play out in the Mother City.
The South African notes that when the world champs head into the Rugby Championship action, there is talk that one of the home games against the All Blacks could be played in Cape Town.
Since Cape Town is renowned for having a huge home base of All Blacks supporters, this should prove to be an electric occasion. The two arch-rivals have not played in Cape Town since 2017 when New Zealand secured a thrilling one-point win at Newlands. With the Bokke having beat them hard and fast at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, everyone is sure to be extra riled up.

But first, the Springboks are set to face Ireland in a two-match series before a one-off Test against Georgia in July.
During the early stages of the Rugby World Cup, the Springboks’ only defeat of the tournament was at the hands of Ireland in a huge pool game. Now the Springboks have a chance to redeem this loss as they are set to play Ireland in the July international window next year.
The series is expected to be at least a two-match series, with Ireland coming to South Africa after aiming to defend their Six Nations title. Hendrik Cronje, a leading rugby writer, notes that these two Tests will be played in Pretoria and Durban.
