South African rugby player Eben Etzebeth and his wife, Anlia Etzebeth, are building a beautiful life together right now.
The couple got married in February at the La Paris estate in Franschhoek, celebrated their honeymoon in the Maldives, and then sneakily announced the news of their first baby together as they celebrated the Springbok’s fourth historic win against New Zealand in this year’s Rugby World Cup.
The Afrikaans musician Anlia Star lets slip the surprise in an Instagram post celebrating her hubby’s glory on the field – as well as his 32nd birthday – with a heartfelt “congrats”. Holding her baby belly alongside the Webb Ellis Trophy led many to respond with triple congrats.

Since a mini ‘Elizabedi’ is on the horizon, the Etzebeths have needed to nest – and nest well they have. The Citizen reported that the couple just moved into a new home, with brand-new furniture, and a fantastic view of the sparkling ocean.
Anlia posted a video of the view from their ocean-side home on Instagram, thanking those who helped make their new home feel harmonious and fully theirs, creating a unique atmosphere that truly reflects their personalities. Have a peek:

Eben, who added the SA Rugby Player of the Year award to his growing list of accomplishments this year, has been signed on a long-term contract until 2027 with Durban’s rugby team, the Sharks.
Eben is sad to see his Springbok team-mate and captain Siya Kolisi move on to join a new side, though. Since Siya moved to the Top 14, signing for Racing 92 ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, the Springbok lock jokingly disowned his international team-mate in some scathing banter on Instagram.

In the post, Kolisi responded with a couple of affectionate emojis, but the gargantuan second-row wasn’t having it and poked a bit of fun at the Boks skipper, per Planet Rugby:
“If you not in my team, I don’t want you in my comments!” he quipped.
Kolisi responded by saying: “I’m sorry I was just passing by couldn’t (help) myself! Saying hello from the other side!”
The Springboks captain had spent his entire professional career in South Africa, firstly with the Stormers before two years at the Sharks, but he decided to move to Europe for the 2023/24 season.
Racing announced his signing in January and he met up with his team-mates last week after spending some time in New York for a Kolisi Foundation fundraiser.
The banter continued. Eben Etzebeth explicitly asked Kolisi to stop commenting on his Instagram posts, claiming they were only friends because they played for the same team.
“@siyakolisi if you not in my team, I don’t want you in my comments,” said Eben, addressing Siya Kolisi.

In a more recent post, Siya commented that his “heart can’t take this anymore”. Sorry, Siya, only Anlia seems to have the power to turn the dude into a gentle giant.
Ai, these Bokke, they’re even entertaining off the field.
