UPDATE: Well, this is awkward. Turns out the below video was a skit filmed by content creator @plaasnaar, and not a real bizarre Porsche-stabbing incident as widely circulated on social media and online news outlets (including here!)

Scenes like these are unfortunately too common in our beautiful country, and perhaps the acting was just too good, fooling everyone into frantically reposting the video (tip of the hat to the actor, Boo! to us).

We’ve since been in contact with @plaasnaar and it turns out the ‘knife-wielding thug’ is actually a really nice guy named Chadwin Joseph who is definitely not in the habit of attacking Porsches.

If anything, Chad should be given a Royalty Soapie Award for the drama this video has caused him.

Lesson learned, and we hope other news outlets follow suit. Now check out the FULL video:

A bizarre incident was caught on camera in Cape Town when a man stabbed a parked Porsche’s tyres after the owner of the car refused to give him a tip for ‘cleaning’ the car.

In the footage, the anonymous Porsche owner is shown waiting at a Cape Town petrol station when an unidentified man with a bottle and a rag approaches to clean the car. The Porsche owner objects to the informal car wash, but the man continues to clean the car.

When the owner refuses to pay, the thug then pulls out a knife and stabs the back tyre.  The person taking the video can be heard saying “Oh my word, he just stabbed the tire” and laughing nervously.
