The cannabis world was left in shock over the weekend when the Godfather of Weed, Snoop Dog, declared that he was “giving up smoke’.
The rapper, who was born Calvin Broadus, posted the jarring message on his Instagram account on Friday, leaving fans and cannabis connoisseurs all across the world divided and concerned.
Now it turns out that Snoop was only promoting a new smokeless fire pit.
“I know what you’re thinking: Snoop! Smoke is your whole thing! But I’m done with it,” the hip-hop star said in the advert.
“Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I’m going smokeless. Solo Stove fixed fire. They take out the smoke. Clever.”
This may have been seen as clever marketing, but for an entire weekend, the cannabis world was mired in confusion and despair as stoners and recreational users alike were forced to do serious introspection about the relevance of weed post-Snoop.
