Over the past few weeks, bizarre videos have been surfacing of people roasting Enrique Iglesias for not being able to sing (or dance, for that matter).

Fans of the 2010s pop icon are even wondering if the hunk could ever sing.

While on his current ‘Trilogy’ world tour, along with fellow stars Ricky Martin and Pitbull, fans have been questioning what happened to the star’s voice as more and more clips from his concerts go viral on TikTok.

Ariel Diaz shows Iglesias performing his 2001 hit single ‘Escape’. But the 48-year-old pop star sounds terribly off-key as he struggles to hit the notes in the song, with Diaz captioning the short video: : front row with my mom and I couldn’t stop laughing”:

Another really popular video with around 8.3 million views compares Iglesias’ current tone of voice to that of Mickey Mouse:

Another clip that has caught the attention of the algorithm accuses Iglesias of sounding like another children’s character, Elmo. To be honest, after listening to this clip, that comparison is probably more offensive to Elmo.

The dude is probably aware of his poor form as he then proceeded to get the crowd to sing his song for him.

Another fan gave Iglesias the benefit of the doubt, saying he was just like all of us:

His ‘sexy’ dancing was also beyond cringe:

Digging into the archives to suss out whether it was always like this, fans were remiss to find historical examples of his shoddy live performances also existed. NewsAU pulled up the comments:

“Is this an impersonator? What happened to Enrique Iglesias?” one asked.

“I have officially been cured of my 20+ year crush on Enrique Iglesias,” another wrote.

“This cannot be real?” asked another.

One person said that want a full refund for Enrique’s performance while another quipped “I want my money back and I didn’t even go”. Same, honestly.

Luckily, since Iglesias is currently travelling across the US and Canada with Pitbull and Ricky Martin, he has good backing – even if he sucks.
