The South African Weather Service has issued an alert to the residents of the Northern and Western Cape as they predict ‘extreme heat’ for the next few days.
Yes, it’s going to get hot in here, so take off all your clothes for a predicted 43 degrees in parts of both provinces. You should leave your hat on though.
In addition to your underwear sticking to your buttcrack, high fire danger warnings have also been issued for Khai-Ma Municipality in the Northern Cape, Matzikama, Cederberg and Berg River municipalities in the Western Cape and over the Dawid Kruiper Municipality in the Northern Cape.
Residents in these areas are advised to “keep cool where possible, wear light clothing, and stay well hydrated to avoid the impact of the extreme heat”. Also, lots and lots of sunscreen. Skin cancer is a way worse Christmas present than socks.

We’ve already added ice to the tequila dispenser and set up a splash pool in the 2OV boardroom (or liquor cabinet as we like to call it). We suggest you do the same – just notify HR first, they tend to get all huffy if you blow up lilos in the stairwell.
Then again, it’s easier to say sorry than to ask for permission, and you deserve a cold tequila.
