In the realm of celebrity, Halloween was less a spooky thing this year and more like a backslapping club or something.

Instead of drooling blood and getting prosthetics to make you look ugly – heaven forbid – an excessive number of celebs decided to dress up as other celebs this year. Has Hollywood run out of ideas already?

The only celebrity who can unequivocally walk away proud of their effort, originality and Halloween pizazz is the ultimate Halloween queen Heidi Klum. She may be a supermodel, but she is okay with being stunning, creepy and disgusting around this time of year. Legend.

This year she strutted her stuff as a peacock at her annual bash in New York, with backup artists forming her feathers on the red carpet. Sublime:

Then, Dwayne Johnson dressed as former soccer player David Beckham for Tuesday’s festivities, sporting a long blonde wig and a jersey from the sports star’s days at Manchester United Football Club in England. Beckham reckons this makes Johnson the ‘winner’, which is cute:

The drama really unfolded when Schitt’s Creek alum Emily Hampshire had to publicly apologise for her poor costume choice. She took to social media on Wednesday to offer a profuse apology for dressing up as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard alongside a friend.

“I want to address what is one of the most thoughtless, insensitive, and ignorant things I’ve ever done,” Hampshire said in her Wednesday statement. “For Halloween, I stupidly thought it would be funny to dress as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. I am deeply sorry and ashamed for putting something that awful out in the universe.”
