South African funnyman, Leon Schuster, has suffered a setback after a recent back operation and is now back in hospital in Gauteng.
The 72-year-old filmmaker is apparently in a “lot of pain” and was operated on again on Tuesday.
Schuster sent a message from his hospital bed via Facebook to all his supporters before Saturday’s game, saying “I am lying here in my hospital bed and I feel good today”.
He urged rugby fans to “stand behind the national team, and leave politics behind” because all that matters now is the winning factor.
Leon Schuster and South African rugby go a long way back and he recently released a new song called ‘Bokmasjien’. He is of course best known for ‘Hier Kom Die Bokke‘, which spurred on the nation during the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
Schuster had to have a back operation after an injury on the set of his latest movie. After the successful op, he had a nasty fall which forced him back to hospital.
This man is a national treasure regardless of how politically weird and full of poop jokes his movies might be. We wish him a speedy recovery.
