With some of the freshest, richest raw ingredients and a remarkable wine scene, it makes perfect sense that South Africa should shine in the World Culinary Awards.
Mzansi stands out as a foodie destination thanks to its innovative chefs and restaurateurs always bursting onto the scene with stunning new ideas, making our country a rite of passage for any visitor serious about excellent wine and top-notch culinary experiences.
This did not go unnoticed at this year’s World Culinary Awards ceremony, which was held at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai earlier this week.
The World Culinary Awards – as the sister event to the World Travel Awards, which was launched in 1994 to celebrate excellence in travel and tourism – serves to celebrate and reward excellence in the culinary industry through its annual awards programme.
South Africa itself won top honours, deemed ‘Africa’s Best Culinary Destination’, while Cape Town took the title of ‘Africa’s Best Culinary City Destination’. Woop Woop.
