There is resounding agreement among everyone that Sunday night’s 2023 Rugby World Cup Bokke vs. Les Bleues was one of the best matches of all time.

5FM radio presenter Dan Corder said it was the most “extraordinary” game that he’s ever watched, while also referencing The Guardian‘s review of the epic battle, which called it “overwhelming, overpowering, operatic”.

“There are certain extremely rare occasions in elite sport when you realise, even as it’s happening, that nothing will ever quite be the same after this. I’m writing this about half an hour after full time and it still feels wrong to talk about that game in the past tense,” continued The Guardian’s Jonathan Liew at the Stade de France.

It was the kind of game that “unfolded at a speed and intensity that was genuinely hard to process in real-time”, which is why we’re loving the stunning moments posted by the Rugby World Cup TikTok account to help us relish in the goodness of the game.

I’ve probably watched this sequence five times:

Indeed, it is surely a game that will go down in history.

As The South African asked, what would a Springboks victory be without a hilarious Faf de Klerk moment?

During the Boks’ win against World Cup host country France, the mischievous Faf decided to do what he does best; annoy his opponents. During a heated ruck, the 29-year-old scrumhalf is seen trying to distract his opponent when one of the French players pulls him by the shirt and tosses him to the side.

Commenters noted that he looked like a “puppy” being grabbed or a “grocery bag” being picked up. Hilarious man.

Hey, when life tries to knock you out, pull a Faf by back-flip somersaulting into a standing position before flicking your hair, unfazed:

That Faf move was from when the Boks led 17-6 in their match against England at Twickenham last year.

Siya Kolisi’s post-RWC match speech was also something to write home about – we covered it already over here.

The Bokke love is real.
