Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, has just released his highly anticipated South Africa 2023 Report, which features 201 wines that were rated 90+ points and above. The annual report, now in its 11th edition, is the most comprehensive commentary on SA’s top-scoring fine wines.

Not surprisingly, seventeen wines from Antonij Rupert Wines received 90+ points in the latest edition. Even among the best, there is still the best.

Atkins has been instrumental in bringing South African wines to the world stage, tasting 2 206 SA wines from 419 producers. His annual report continues to highlight the very best wines that our country has to offer.

As an award-winning wine writer and Master of Wine, Atkins has 38 years of experience in writing for a number of publications, including Harpers, Decanter, The World of Fine Wine and The Drinks Business. He’s also co-chairman of the International Wine Challenge, the world’s most rigorously judged blind-tasting competition, and has won over 30 awards for journalism and photography.

As bona fides go, it doesn’t get much better, so for Antonij Rupert Wines to have seventeen wines making the ‘Tim-cut’ is a wonderful achievement. As regulars at the Anthonij Rupert Tasting Room, we could say told you so, but we don’t gloat. Much.
