Grab your popcorn, because the celebs are back at it again with some juicy goss involving Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty and rapper Offset.

Minaj’s hubby has been ordered to serve 120 days of home detention due to a probation violation stemming from a series of threatening social media posts directed at rapper Kiari Kendrell Cephus AKA Offset, of Migos fame.

The court order, filed in the Central District of California, revealed that Petty had violated the terms of his probation by posting video clips that contained threats towards a specific individual. That’s a big no-no if you’re already under the watchful eye of the law.

In July 2022, Kenneth Petty was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California in 2020. But his legal troubles began way before last year. In 1995, Petty was convicted for the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, which led to a four-year prison sentence in New York. Yuk.

The recent viral video clip in question that was shared on social media this week captured Petty and his entourage outside a hotel in New York City, where Offset was reportedly staying. In the video, Petty can be heard making various threatening remarks, including, “Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral, p***y!”

In response to these threats, Offset, who is also the husband of rapper Cardi B, posted a video on his social media downplaying the situation, saying, “I’m getting off a jet, he’s funny.” Basically, it implies that Petty was ‘poor’.

It’s worth noting that all these ridiculous shenanigans play out against a backdrop of Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s long-standing feud, marked by a physical altercation during the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party at New York Fashion Week in September 2018. Video footage from the incident showed Cardi B lunging at and attacking Minaj.

When you have too much time and money on your hands, it seems that you’ll be drawn into situations I’m inclined to say are right in line with Minaj’s husband’s namesake – Petty.
