Meghan Markle is renowned for her classic chic style and expensive taste, and she certainly lived up to this reputation during her recent appearance at the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany.
Over the course of six days, Meghan showcased an array of designer outfits with paired luxury accessories amounting to an eye-popping total of almost £300,000 (approximately R6.9 million). That’s some Beyoncé-level costuming.
The 42-year-old Duchess joined her husband Prince Harry on the second day of the Invictus Games, an event he initiated in 2014 to honour wounded and injured servicemen and women.
While Meghan chose mostly muted ‘classic’ colours for the games, she also brought the rizz with a teal gown fit for royalty, and donned Princess Diana’s iconic Cartier watch for one of the looks.
Take a look at our top three of her pricey ensembles below:
1. Back in Black
Meghan Markle told a room of disabled veterans she had to do her own hair and makeup.
So brave, so honest, so raw. Those veterans could take a leaf or two out of Meghan’s book. They obviously need it! pic.twitter.com/KzIc6pg0P8

At the Friends at Home event, Meghan donned a stylish black Banana Republic shirtdress valued at R2,576, paired with a Bottega Veneta plaited skinny belt worth R3,700. While the black dress is a classic staple for a classy look, it was her accessories that stole the spotlight. Meghan adorned herself with Kimai earrings featuring lab-grown diamonds valued at R13,685 and Princess Diana’s Cartier watch, worth a staggering R409,400.
2. Business Casual Chic
All this week I’ll be posting this picture. If you come under my TL to moan like a deranger I will simply post the picture to you in reply.

On her first day as a spectator, Meghan chose American brand J.Crew’s Giselle V-neck sweater blazer, priced at R2,990, paired with R2,990 Staud Luisa shorts and a R8,395 Givenchy belt. This particular fashion choice caused such a stir that J.Crew’s website experienced a crash due to increased demand.
3. Mermaid Royalty

For the closing ceremony of the event, Meghan saved the best for last. The duchess dazzled in a teal cut-out dress by Los Angeles-based label Cult Gaia, valued at R19,090, paired with Aquazzura heels worth R12,075.
Although Meghan looked like a superstar throughout the whole six-day event, nasty comments abounded on social media. It seems that netizens are far from done pitting Meghan against Kate Middleton, who is seen as the royal ‘sweetheart’.
While Meghan may be a divisive public figure, she clearly learned a thing or two about fashion in Hollywood.
