The FIA World Rallycross Championship is set to make its way to Killarney International Raceway on October 7 and 8 for the penultimate round of the season.
An evolution of the popular FIA European Rallycross Championship, World RX, was launched in 2014. In 2022, the series entered a new era by going fully electric. The race made its debut in the 2017 season, at Killarney International Raceway in Cape Town, and returned to the same venue in 2019.
World RX of South Africa is organised by the same team that brought the FIA ABB Formula E Cape Town E-Prix to Cape Town in February.
Even Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis is excited about the race, gushing over how “We are delighted to welcome the FIA World Rallycross back to Cape Town. We know Capetonians have the appetite for thrilling motorsports as we saw with the Cape Town E-Prix, and we look forward to showing the world more ways in which we can stage high-impact, successful and sustainable events.”
Right on, Geordin.

A minimum of eight world-class drivers have been confirmed for the event in Cape Town next month, headlined by current championship leader, Johan Kristoffersson.
