Elon Musk is a busy man. Not only is he responsible for the new wave of private space exploration and eclectic vehicles, he has also managed to sire ten children along the way.
Of all his children, the least is known about a pair of twins he fathered with long-time colleague, Shivon Zilis, who also works for the mogul at his brain chip company Neuralink.
Zilis, a Canadian-born venture capitalist, gave birth to Musk’s eighth and ninth child in November 2021, according to court documents. However, their names have never been made public. Zilis claims that she and her 52-year-old billionaire boss never engaged in any sexual relationship or were ever romantically involved in any way.
The twins were reportedly conceived through in vitro fertilization, and were born just weeks before Musk welcomed his second child with Canadian pop star Grimes (aka Claire Boucher).
Musk took to X on Wednesday to show off the first-ever pictures of the entire family together. This comes after a meeting with his upcoming biographer, veteran journalist Walter Isaacson, who will be releasing a book on the weird genius later this year. Isaacson posted the pic to his own X account, with some strange details about their meeting.
According to the writer, Musk insisted that all their phones be kept in the house while they hung around outside, as “someone could use them to monitor our conversation”.
“For a moment I was struck by the oddness of the scene,” Isaacson wrote. “We were sitting on a suburban patio by a tranquil backyard swimming pool on a sunny spring day, with two bright-eyed twins learning to toddle, as Musk somberly speculated about the window of opportunity for building a sustainable human colony on Mars before an AI apocalypse destroyed earthly civilization.”
Ever since imbibing Isaac Asimov stories as a kid, Musk has worried that our robots could turn on us. This Time excerpt of https://t.co/7JGHd10lOC explains why and what he’s doing about it. https://t.co/EiXqmMi3E6 pic.twitter.com/loKKgwYoIx

In 2015, Zilis was listed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for venture capital. She currently serves as director of operations and special projects at Neuralink and reports directly to Elon Musk.
He hired Zilis, who is considered an expert in the field of artificial intelligence, to work on Tesla’s autopilot technology in 2017. Shivon reportedly holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy from Yale University. In 2013 I was asked to brief Prince Harry about tech startups. Here I’m telling him how the Basis watch on my wrist came into existence through a crowdfunding campaign.
At the time I wondered why he was interested in tech startups. 8 years later we finally know the answer! pic.twitter.com/lkekQSFHhE

Having twins with your co-worker through IVF may seem strange to us, but in the world of tech billionaires, it’s one of the less weird things to do. Either way, Elon seems to be doing his part for the future of humanity. One baby at a time.
