‘Stuntman’ Escapes Death After Poor Attempt At Jumping Car From Building Rooftop [Video]

An ill-considered stunt by a Russian daredevil went horribly wrong when he attempted to jump a battered old car from one rooftop to the next, instead plummeting several storeys down to the ground.

Amazingly, the driver escaped unharmed, but as the video shows, nearly everything about his attempt screamed “bad idea”.

32-year-old Evgeny Chebotarev was likely going for TikTok gold when he launched his buggered old Lada Niva between the buildings, but at a near crawl, and with very dodgy-looking plywood ramps. The trick nearly cost him his life. Surely he deserves an honorary Darwin Award. Or at least a mention.

In footage from the bizarre incident, the Russian can be seen in the crappy ‘communism is awesome’ car on the rooftop of the building opposite where the cameraman stood. He then attempts to accelerate as quickly as possible and sail over to the adjacent property.

What seemed like a good idea over a few bottles of vodka quickly became a bad idea as the car barely got any air before crashing down the side of the building like a Russian spacecraft trying to land on the moon.

Incredibly, Chebotarev managed to survive the incident and was fortunate not to suffer any really serious injuries.

The stuntman was later seen moving about, climbing out of the horrific wreckage. Checking he was ok, someone shouted down to Chebotarev, asking him: “Are you in one piece?” To which one person replied: “I cannot be sure.”

Chebotarev, who has been involved in all manner of crazy stunts, told his followers: “You knew I wouldn’t stop.”

“Friends always called me a psycho,” he said. “As far as I remember, I’ve always loved extremes.”

This isn’t the first life or death stunt Chebotarev has been involved in, though; last year, he broke his spine after flying a car 131ft over a river.
