Irish singer and local favourite, Ronan Keating, visited South Africa with his family recently to find some solace and time to heal after the devastating loss of his brother.
The pop star, whose brother Ciaran died last month in a car accident, was on safari with his family, with Keating calling the open veld and African sky the perfect place to heal after suffering a tragic loss. We could not agree more.
He took to Instagram saying “There is no more fitting a place to heal, than in South Africa surrounded by Mother Nature and great people; and our little bundles of joy Cooper and Coco, have kept us going constantly. Thank you God.”
The 46-year-old also posted several photos from his South African safari holiday with his wife Storm and their children Cooper and Coco.
The former Boyzone singer, who has worked closely with SA golf legend Gary Player to raise money for young impoverished South Africans, performed at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, in March this year. We were lucky to chat with the Boyzone-era singer at the time and just fell in love with this genuinely nice guy all over again.
The feeling seems to be mutual as Keating has in the past expressed his affection for South Africa – even spending his honeymoon with wife Storm in Cape Town.
Storm posted a beautiful safari video featuring the family and the wildlife, captioning it “Bush Medicine 🇿🇦”. The family also spent time at the Leopard Creek Country Club.

After taking time off in South Africa, Keating left to perform in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
You and your family are welcome back anytime Ronan.
