Feast your eyes on the new Lamborghini Lanzador, a 1 341 horsepower monster recently revealed at the Monterey Car Week.
The concept vehicle will be developed into only the fourth model line for the tightly focused performance brand, joining its two traditional sports car models and an SUV.
The Lanzador boasts a one-megawatt drivetrain, which is equal to 1341 horsepower.
This concept vehicle marks a significant step towards the decarbonisation and electrification process announced in 2021 by Lamborghini.
Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, remarked:
“With this concept, we are ushering in a new car segment, the Ultra GT, which is poised to offer customers a new and unparalleled driving experience, one that’s quintessentially Lamborghini, thanks to groundbreaking technologies.”
Whatever you wanna call it, Stephan. To us, this ‘SUV’ is much better looking than the Maserati and Porsche SUV’s that have been clogging up Cape Town’s streets lately. As much as manufacturers want us to believe that ‘sport SUV’s are ‘cool’, this one is by far the best.
Even if you load the new Lanzador full of soccer kids, you’re still going to look badass.
The Lanzador is equipped with two electric motors, one for each axle, providing all-wheel drive and efficiency in all driving conditions, on all surfaces, and in every driving style. The driver can independently adjust the control systems while on the road via controls on the sports steering wheel, actively modifying the car’s behaviour and creating their own individual profile to best express their driving needs.
Active Aerodynamics is another key feature of the Lanzador, employed in the front and rear to maximise aerodynamic efficiency in the different driving modes.
This technology enables the car to regulate airflow precisely, increasing the range in Urban mode and increasing downforce in Performance mode.
Lamborghini has committed to selling only “electrified vehicles,” meaning either plug-in hybrid or fully electric, by the end of 2024. The Lanazdor is expected to arrive in 2028.
Like the video below notes, what if it was a spaceship that you could drive in your everyday life? Lamborghini seems to have answered that question.
Chills baby.
