Rescue teams were dispatched to Llandudno on Wednesday afternoon after a 17-year-old was swept off the rocks while out with friends.
Despite an extensive sea, air, and shoreline search, there has thus far been no sign of the young man.
Searchers even employed a rescue drone with a FLIR (Thermal Imaging Camera Technology), but as night fell they were still looking.
“It appears he had been in shallow surf on rocks on the shoreline with friends when reportedly a wave may have swept him off his feet and we believe he had attempted to swim with sea currents to escape the rocky shoreline,” said the National Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon.
