A MyCiti bus crashed into Truth Coffee shop on Buitenkant Street in the CBD on Monday evening after allegedly coming ‘under attack’. Luckily there were only a few light injuries but details are still sketchy about the cause of the crash.
According to witnesses, the bus came down Buitenkant at speed before tearing into a newly erected parklet outside Truth Coffee.
According to the owner of Truth Coffee, David Donde, the bus went straight into their front door coming to a stop only when it hit the sturdy walls of the old building.
“The bus crunched into our 1898 building’s wall… I can say 1898 brick vs bus, bricks: 1 one bus: 0.”
There has been no word about the alleged attack, but with Cape Town Police Station next door to the coffee shop, the fuzz was at least already on the scene.
