We’re once again being treated to another of Roald Dahl’s famed chocolatiers.
In the upcoming Wonka, Timothée Chalamet takes on the part first played to perfection by Gene Wilder in 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
We’ve already gotten a taste of Wonka, but its first full trailer is a sweet treat for Chalamet fans and moviegoers everywhere.
Chalamet is adding a newer, sweeter role to his resumé after being a teen heartthrob in Lady Bird, an Oscar contender in Call Me By Your Name, a sci-fi princeling in Dune, and a road-tripping cannibal in Bones and All, notes Mashable.
In the new origin story for the eponymous candy-making genius, we’ll see a young Willy Wonka set out to become a renowned chocolate maker. But first, he’ll have to face off against the Chocolate Cartel.
At least the guy has creativity (and chocolate) in his blood:
Seeing Chalamet sing and dance is pretty yummy, but it has to be the Oompa Loompa, played by a bright orange, shrunken-down Hugh Grant, that takes the chocolate-tiered cake.
The star-studded cast also boasts Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Watch out for Wonka hitting theatres on December 15.
