Schools in the UK are decrying the proliferation of vapes as they struggle to cope with the children who are barely making it through lessons before they have to duck out for a quick pull.
It has become so pervasive, that children as young as nine have been spotted showing up in hospitals with devastating lung damage, per the Telegraph, with injuries ranging from bleeding lungs to lung collapse.
The vaping trend among children has taken another horrifying turn, with yet another baby being shown how to inhale the noxious vapour.
NewsAU reported that the police have taken action after a shocking video emerged of a teenage boy forcing a little four-year-old girl to smoke a vape. The footage shows the boy telling the girl to “suck” before she inhales the vapour and blows it back out, making her struggle to control her breathing.
The incident occurred in Adelaide’s northern suburbs but it is not known how the teen and the girl are known to one another.
South Australia Police have reported a 16-year-old boy to the relevant authorities for allegedly supplying a minor with a tobacco product.
“The matter will be dealt with by the Juvenile Justice System,” a police spokesperson said.
7News added that the police have advised the Department for Child Protection on the matter, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Sadly, it is not the first time that a baby has been fed nicotine.
Earlier this year, a silly 16-year-old mother became the centre of public outrage when she shared multiple videos online of her giggling while making her baby suck on a vape.
Apparently, the police became aware of this incident and were sent to a Kempsey home on the NSW mid-north coast in March to conduct a concern for welfare report.
A 16-year-old Queensland girl was also filmed giving her infant sibling puff on a vape just days after the NSW clip surfaced.
Currently, Australians have to have a prescription to legally buy nicotine vaping products but the authorities are still scrambling to bring vape use under control.
