We all know Elvis’ story like the back of our hands now after Baz Luhrmann’s Golden Globe-nominated biopic came out last year.
Now comes a slightly different Elvis movie – Priscilla, Sofia Coppola’s retelling of Priscilla Presley’s side of the story.
Based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, the biographical film follows her life and relationship with the King of Rock ‘n Roll.
The film begins when a teenage Priscilla Beaulieu (Cailee Spaeny) meets Elvis (Jacob Elordi) at a party in 1959 – yes, when Priscilla was still at high school and he was 24 and in the military – with a whirlwind and often turbulent romance following straight after, notes Mashable. The Presleys married in 1967 and divorced in 1973, you see.

Priscilla marks Coppola’s third collaboration with A24, following 2020’s On the Rocks and 2013’s The Bling Ring.
Coppola’s film is set to release in October, with an original score by Phoenix, led by Coppola’s husband Thomas Mars.
