As we’ve established, Capetonians don’t particularly function very well in the Winter months.
The roads are mal at this time of year, and honestly, it is a much wiser choice to just stay indoors and make a human-sized gatsby with your blankie.
That’s the perfect position from which to order Butler’s, Cape Town’s number-one pizza. The delicious establishment is always offering morish deals – which is why we’re here – so be sure to follow them on your socials and call your local branch for some cheesy goodness.
If you are mad enough to venture out in this relentless rain and wind, you might as well do it well.
Sure, visiting some of the best restaurants in South Africa can put a strain on the financial coffers, but luckily, some of our best-loved eateries have some amazing winter restaurant specials that you should definitely take advantage of, per Crushed Mag.
Ranked 94th on 50 Best’s list of the best restaurants in the world, La Colombe is also offering a nice seasonal special. Hooray, because otherwise you’ll be set back quite a bit.
Nestled along Constantia Nek, Cape Town’s favourite modern French-meets-Asian restaurant is giving guests the opportunity to snack on its delicacies with a Winter Lunch Special, which includes an extraordinary eight-course menu featuring an array of exquisite dishes.
Some of the highlights include the dove’s nest, dry-aged duck and of course, La Colombe’s signature Tuna ‘La Colombe’. The lunch special concludes with a delectable eclair. The eight-course menu will cost you R995 pp.
In the CBD, Kloof Street House on Kloof Street (dah), is offering an incredibly priced Winter Lunch Special with a two or three-course menu. The price for two courses is R 195 pp, for three courses is R 235 pp, and the wine-pairing is priced at R 75 – R 90 per course (by the glass).
In the Atlantic Seaboard area, PIER Restaurant, located at the V&A Waterfront, has an eight-course Winter Lunch Special on offer for R995 pp. It features items like langoustine, pork jowl and spiced coconut, Szechuan tuna with tamarind, ponzu, and basil, along with other mouth-watering dishes.
You can check out more delectable specials here and here. Most of these specials end in August, so get yourself moving – if you can.
There’s also this nifty app called FOMO, which uses geolocation to show you the restaurant specials, drink specials, activities, spas and more nearest to you.
Cape Town is so special.
