Some chinas are surfing out at Muizenberg right now.
I am not there (it’s raining and I’ve fully integrated as a Cape Townian who doesn’t function when water comes from the sky), but I gave them a squiz with this nifty YouTube channel called SA Webcams.
The channel has set up live webcams at four top beaches across South Africa with three in Cape Town, namely Clifton 4th, Muizenberg, Strand, and Jbay Main Beach.
While the webcams might function well as a real-time surf report for the cool okes, it could also be a nice calming wave soundscape for those of us doing a Gatsby with a blankie at home.
Catch a glimpse of Clifton 4th – it is looking rof right now so no-go:
Muizenberg looks misty today, but that’s not stopping a few salt fanatics from catching a few waves:
I am aware that these are live webcams, so by the time you read this, the weather could be balmy, the water crystalline and the babes bounteous.
Besides checking out the viaab on the beach before braving the lack of parking, SA Webcams is also useful for capturing some interesting moments:
The cams have caught some incriminating moments, too. Around seven months ago, it caught an attack unfolding:
And even the pretty moments, which you can check out on Instagram.
Enjoy knowing more about the beaches than ever before.
