It looks like the OG Jantjies family is back on track. Or at least that’s how it appears on his and his wife Iva’s Instagram pages.

A refresher: the saga of Elton Jantjies and Springbok dietician Zeenat Simjee having an affair rumbled on for much of the last year, with the latter’s denials only serving to keep the headlines drama-filled and juicy.

Despite Simjee and her lawyer insinuating that it was a case of mistaken identity, essentially throwing other female employees of the Springboks under the bus, Elton went on the record to admit that he had carried out the long-running affair with the dietician.

That was shortly before jetting off to join his wife, Iva, and kids in Cyprus, racked with confusion about why Simjee and her lawyer were continuing to deny that she had an affair with him.

Iva Ristic, model and DJ, married Jantjies in 2019, which is when she reckons the affair with Simjee actually started. Then later last year, when the dust had settled ever so slightly, Iva mentioned that she would finalise their divorce once the family was settled in their new home in Cyprus. The South African reported at the time that Iva would end things straight after the 2022 festive season.

The flyhalf must have won at getting back in his partner’s good books because the couple has been sharing Instagram snaps of them travelling and enjoying family time together all over the place. Iva posted a snap of the fam in Bordeaux, France in February:

That header image of them all in Rome is the latest, posted around two days ago, but Elton has been posting happy-looking snaps of him and Iva together for most of the year so far:

When Iva was talking about divorce in December, she did also mention that she and Elton were on “great terms” – as friends and co-parents:

Iva said at the time: “Elton is doing really well. We are on great terms though we talk every day. I am still his biggest supporter, and he is mine. I am honestly proud of us for managing to keep the friendship going.”

She added: “Yes, [we are] going formalize our divorce very soon. It’s been a chaotic period for both of us moving countries, but after the holidays will definitely focus more on that.

Iva and her three children relocated from Japan to Alanya, Turkey after Elton left his club, NTT DoCoMo Red Hurricanes to join Agen. Elton resides in France now.

It’s not clear if Elton and Iva are just co-parenting or are giving their relationship another go, but the snaps of them hugging each other suggest they’re back on track.

Elton might be safe in this part of his life, but he is facing the possibility of being left out of the Springboks Rugby World Cup squad. Meanwhile, his alleged mistress made the cut for the month-long event, which kicks off in September.
