With our myriad of crises down here on the southern tip of Africa, it’s easy to forget that a war has been raging in the Northern Hemisphere for over a year.
Despite the horror of war, many Ukrainians still go about their days but every now and again the realities of the conflict hit too close to home.
Perhaps the best illustration of this is a recent video that shows what is believed to be a missile drop from the sky above Kyiv and onto commuting traffic. The projectile narrowly misses a car as it tears its way through the tarmac.
The way the missile falls suggests it was intercepted by air defences before it could reach its target. The incident happened on 29 May and came during a rare daytime attack on the city. No injuries were reported.

It has been said many times, but when elephants fight, only the grass suffers. The grass in this case is the innocent people of Kyiv who have to now keep an eye out for falling missiles while trying to get to work on time.
