Ichikawa Koikuchi has brought a rather unique comedy act to the Britain’s Got Talent stage, but his “sym-FART-ny” has left a foul smell in the air for some less-than-impressed viewers.
Apparently, some people watching were so “sickened” by his flatulence-laden musical that they were left “crying and gagging”, Mirror reported.
The Japanese entertainer is a self-proclaimed ‘fartist’ who passes gas “whenever he pleases, to focus on his one and only special trick – a fart”, per his social media platforms. The 42-year-old, who has been performing for decades, tried to enthral the UK with his stink show, but the more prim and proper Pommies were having none of it.
One by one, the judges began to press their buzzers as Ichikawa fumbled with his trousers and let out a series of farts in synchronicity to a song nobody wants to hear anymore:
Meanwhile, the crowd furiously booed the act:
Disgusted viewers flocked to Twitter to share their horror, with one writing: “this is horrible and so incredibly awkward to watch i want to cry #bgt.”
While another commented: “Am I really sitting watching a lad s*** himself on tv with a string quartet & ballerina in the background.”
A third fumed: “That farting act made me feel sick!! #BGT.”
I guess you can say that audience members weren’t that blown away.
Ichikawa is accustomed to the Got Talent stages, having appeared on Asia’s Got Talent in 2019, and France’s Got Talent in 2022, Metro noted. Some of his routines see him blow out candles, set off a party horn and pop a balloon with his own farts. He can even impersonate a duck using just his bum cheeks:

Despite the recent spate of disappointment, Ichikawa managed to get through to the semi-finals for BGT after receiving three yeses from the judges when he auditioned, not that folks are all that chuffed about it:
Viewers on social media said it was “unfair” that the performer took the space of someone else who could’ve gone through to the semi-finals.
One person wrote: “An act that deserved to go through missed out because of this.”
The latest smelly performance was described as “torture” by new judge Bruno Tonioli, questioning if the act was right for King Charles, while Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon ended up in hysterics.
Simon Cowell even joined the act on stage for a final trick and assured his co-stars: “It’s not fake, it’s real”.
I am pretty sure farting is a joke best left for the playground. Plus, nobody wants a stage full of sharticles.
