When the cook becomes cooked…
Benedict Cumberbatch and his family were left fearing for their lives when an unhinged chef launched an attack on their London home recently.
Jack Bissell, a former chef at the five-star Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair, forcibly entered the Sherlock actor’s property in north London after kicking his way in through the garden gate while yelling: “I know you’ve moved here, I hope it burns down”.
The 35-year-old cook then proceeded to uproot a garden plant, toss it at a garden wall, and spit on the house intercom before ripping it off the wall with a fish knife and making a series of further threats.

Poor Cumberbatch, his wife Sophie Hunter, and their three young children were in the home at the time and could hear this cooky cook screaming and hurling things outside, The Daily Mail reported:
A source said: “Naturally all of the family were absolutely terrified and thought this guy was going to get in and hurt them. Luckily it never went that far. Benedict and Sophie have had many sleepless nights since worrying that they may be targeted again. The fact that it was a targeted intrusion makes it a lot more scary.”
The Times reported that the police were later able to retrieve Bissell’s DNA from the intercom, and arrested him. Bissell appeared before a court on May 10 where he pleaded guilty to criminal damage before being slapped with a $310 fine (R6 000) and a three-year restraining order. Apparently, Bissell was previously convicted of theft and also had prior warnings on his record related to drug, property, and public order offences.
In 2015, he was even photographed being arrested in his underpants during a central London protest against military intervention in Syria. He seems proud of this one:

It is not clear why Bissell decided to take it out on Cumberbatch, but one might imagine it had something to do with meal prepping.
Someone put this guy back in the kitchen before he loses it again.
