Rumours of marriage trouble have been doggedly following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for ages now.

Not only is everyone (ever) out to get them (all the time) but they’re doomed to fail and split up at some point, the gossip rags and royal commentators like to say.

One British royal author and socialite, Lady Colin Campbell, has been wildly claiming that the controversial couple has had “problems in the marriage supposedly for some time” amid rumours he called in divorce lawyers “months ago” per Entertainment Daily.

Lady Colin has been turning the rumour mill about their alleged marriage woes as reports surface about Harry keeping a hotel room on standby near the family’s Montecito home in LA for when he wants ‘alone time’.

The Sun started that rumour that Harry likes to occasionally frequent San Vicente Bungalows, a club that is extremely big on maintaining the privacy of its members, without his wife as he considers it “an escape place”.

However, a representative for the Duke of Sussex shut this down by simply telling Page Six, “This is not true”.

Still, Lady Colin is persistent that something is off between the ex-royals:

She told GB News: “There have been problems in the marriage supposedly for some time. I mean, I have heard from five totally reliable sources that Harry called in the lawyers some months ago.

“The problem is that the information doesn’t necessarily match up with their public face. But of course, their public face is to an extent slapped on for monetary gain.

“And also if there are real problems in the marriage, which there do appear to be, Harry’s going to have a heck of a time extricating himself, because he has been very overt about all of his failings and all of his drug-taking.”

That bit about Harry’s historical use of drugs seems to be a bit of a non-sequitur used for shock value.

Former royal butler Paul Burrell has also added his two cents about Harry and Meghan, divulging to GB News that he’s always been “worried” about Harry:

“Am I the only person in the United Kingdom that is thinking, ‘Has Harry finally woken up to the truth?’. Has he finally seen the truth in what his wife is doing – that he’s been brainwashed? That he’s been mesmerised by her beauty or something?’

“Because we all know that, but he doesn’t seem to see it.”

This is all in the wake of Meghan and Harry experiencing what their spokesperson described as a “near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi” in New York City after Meghan was honoured at the 2023 Women of Vision Awards, something certain people are claiming was overly-exaggerated.

I’m sorry, but if Meghan and Harry didn’t bicker, disagree, fight and require personal space away from each other, especially considering the very public-facing life they live, I would worry.

They’re probably fine. Just fine.
