It appears as though there have been two shark attacks in the Eastern Cape oceans this week.
On Monday afternoon, it was reported that a 40-year-old man was in stable condition after a shark attack at Mdumbi Beach in the Eastern Cape.
Apparently, the man was diving for crayfish when he was attacked, sustaining injuries to his shoulder.
Eastern Cape health departmental spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said the provincial EMS helicopter was dispatched to airlift him to the hospital, where he was stabilised, per TimesLIVE.
Then, on another Eastern Cape beach on Wednesday evening, another man was attacked by a shark. The victim, believed to be a 50-year-old man from Cape Town, sustained non-lethal injuries to his leg at a beach in Jeffreys Bay.

He was also transported to the hospital for treatment, with local safety officials saying he was “stable” and “in good spirits”, per Surfer.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Jeffreys Bay station commander, Paul van Jaarsveld, said in a press release that the man was bitten by a shark at around 5:30PM while surfing at Supertubes beach:
“A bystander had raised the alarm and was requesting and was provided with the access code to the NSRI shark bite kit stationed at that beach.
“On arrival on the scene, NSRI medics assisted public members who had already applied trauma pads to a bite wound sustained by the surfer who was safe out of the water.
There has been no word on the shark that attacked these men, so for all we know, it could be the same hungry fellow.
At least the sharks are out and about, though, considering how hard and fast those killing-machine Orcas have been going for them.
