Errol also commented on why he believes his son is pushing back against the narrative that his family made a fortune from emeralds. He said, “Elon’s main concern is not to appear to be a ‘trust fund kid’ who got everything given to him on a plate.”

There is no shortage of strain between Elon Musk and his father, Errol.
In a Rolling Stone interview, Elon described his father as “evil” and “a terrible human being”, causing Errol to comment that his son “needs to grow up” and “get over himself” because he’s “having a tantrum, like a spoilt child”.
Errol can think of two major tantrums from Elon, one apparently being when he made the decision to “move back to South Africa in 2004”, saying that this made Elon “furious” because “he can’t force me to love America the way he does”.
Tantrum number two, according to the 77-year-old, came when he got his “30-year-old girlfriend Jana pregnant and we had a baby son”, but what Errol forgot to mention then was how this girlfriend used to be his stepdaughter.
As if that’s not enough to have an estranged relationship with your father, Errol did once say that he wasn’t really that proud of his son, who is the richest person in the world, owning history-making companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and Twitter.
I am not trying to tout the titty-loving tycoon (Elon’s obsession with boobs makes a lot more sense now), but his father is clearly not in touch with reality. Or he feels some kind of way because as a “very frugal, stingy family”, Elon hasn’t sent a cent his way.
This is especially a slap in the face as Errol wholly believes that he single-handedly funded his son’s move from the dregs of South Africa to the delights of America.
Errol just said in an interview that he used emeralds from an “under the table” mine in Zambia to finance his son’s escape from South Africa to America. These rumours have completely agitated the Twitter bro, who took to the platform about it in January:
The fake emerald mine thing is so annoying (sigh). Like where exactly is this thing anyway!?

And again more recently, attempting to use his fortune to squash the rumours once and for all:
I will pay a million Dogecoin for proof of this mine’s existence!
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 12, 2023
Per Inquisitr, when Errol read about the Dogecoin challenge, he said:
“I was wondering if I could enter this contest because I can prove my existence.”
Eroll explained that Elon and his siblings knew about the emerald mine, and even his daughter still has several valuable pendants from the mine. He added, “Elon saw [the emeralds] at our house. He knew I was selling them.”
Ultimately, Errol believes that his son’s contestation is a matter of semantics:
“What Elon is saying is that there was no formal mine,” he explained, “It was a rock formation protruding from the ground in the middle of nowhere. There was no mining company. There are no signed agreements or financial statements. No one owned anything. The deal was done on a handshake with the Italian man at a time when Zambia was a free for all. Not even he knew exactly where the border was. At that time, it was like the Wild West.”
Errol also commented on why he believes his son is pushing back against the narrative that his family made a fortune from emeralds. He said, “Elon’s main concern is not to appear to be a ‘trust fund kid’ who got everything given to him on a plate.”
