Princess Diana often popped over to Cape Town to visit her brother, Earl Spencer, in his lavish Constantia estate.
After he sold Tarrystone in 2010 for an undisclosed amount, the property was on sale for R80 million again in 2014.
The home has been renovated since, but the suite in which the late Princess stayed in has been preserved as it was.
Diana last managed to pay a visit in January 1997, around six months before she tragically died in a car accident in Paris, noted SA People.
Now, the 10-bedroom home in Upper Constantia is available from May 1 for a 12-month lease period at R290 000 per month, as per the Dogon Group listing.
Just off Southern Cross Drive, the sprawling estate is made up of around two acres of land with views over False Bay:
The stately historical home has impressive features, breathtaking views, spectacular setting as the opulence of this home and its famous history make this such a desirable property.
…The double-storey home comprises about 1 100sqm in floor space with large rooms, double-volume ceilings, state-of-the-art security (including a guardhouse), guest cottages, a manager’s office, private vineyards, a tennis court, fully equipped gym room, Jacuzzi, koi pond and a swimming pool.
The home and cottages are rented fully furnished, including a 10-seater cinema/media room.
PLUS, the private vineyard currently produces about 300 bottles of private-label Pinotage wine each year.
Did someone say party? Don’t tease.
Never mind the Guptas Constantia mansion (it sold anyway) because Tarrystone might just be the most desirable property in Cape Town’s southern suburbs.
