Jeez, this much be the gazillionaire version of buying a Venter trailer because your spouse has too much luggage.
Jeff Bezos has splashed out on a $75 Million (R1.4 Billion) support vessel to follow his $500 million (R9 Billion) megayacht Koru around, just so that his girlfriend has a place to park her helicopter.
As difficult as this is to understand for us mere mortals, it does raise the question of why a megayacht like Koru doesn’t have a helipad. Not having a place to land your helicopter is so ‘millionaire’.
The worlds-second largest sailing boat Koru is accompanied by a support ship by Damen Yachting. At 247 feet, Abeona is the largest custom-built shadow yacht. Koru boasts triple masts reaching 230 feet – making the sailing yacht nearly half the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Jeff’s girlfriend is the lovely Lauren Sanchez, a trained helicopter pilot and founder of Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and Production Company.
It must have been embarrassing for Jeff to admit his yacht has no space for her chopper, despite the Koru having a swimming pool, theatre, spa, and gym amongst other amenities.

Abeona is named after the goddess of voyages and departures. In addition to a helipad, it has a hangar that can carry a D14 value helicopter. It can comfortably accommodate 45 people, and can carry a host of toys, including water scooters, sea bobs, and even a submarine.
Luckily Sanchez is not an Aeroplane pilot otherwise Bezos would have had to splash out on an aircraft carrier, and those things cost a lot.
