Nick And Vanessa Lachey Are Getting Dragged For Terrible ‘Love Is Blind’ Reunion

Nick and Vanessa may no longer see 'Love Is Blind' in their future after this debacle.

The latest season of Love Is Blind, Netflix’s buzzy dating show, was chaotic. But things really went off the rocker during the reunion episode, which just aired.

The tea was well and truly spilt in the reunion episode, but seeing Irina feverishly defend herself, Paul skirt around calling Micah a full-on b*tch, or even Jackie explain why she kept Marshall’s ring despite leaving him for bad boy Josh was not where the real drama was at.

Rather, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey are getting all the comments and backlash for their shoddy work throughout the show but especially in the final episode.

It didn’t help that the “disastrous season 4 reunion” was delayed by more than an hour due to technical difficulties, with the disappointment just compounding after seeing Vanessa’s behaviour and Nick’s bemused silence on the episode, noted Glamour:

Vanessa is specifically being dragged for “interrupting and cutting contestants off, taking sides, projecting her personal experiences onto the lives of contestants, treating male cast members unfairly, and posing invasive questions about when or if married contestants plan to have children”. Rude.

Many people found fault in how Vanessa put Marshall Glaze on the spot and found it weird how she took Jackelina’s side, affirming her decision to keep Marshall’s engagement ring when the sudden breakup was in large part her decision.

The hosts were also criticised for not bringing attention to the couple’s alleged transphobic and homophobic comments, mostly from Jackie regarding Marshall’s masculinity, but apparently, there was also an offensive comment made about Jackie’s jawline.

Others were irked by how the Lacheys’ allowed “mean girls” Micah and Irina Solomonova to get away with their bullying antics on the show:

After a really difficult-to-watch discussion about his breakup with fellow contestant Micah Lussier, Paul Peden told Entertainment Tonight that it felt like Vanessa had a “personal bias” against him:

“I was like, ‘Fuck man.’ They kept drilling, drilling it down on me,” Peden told ET. “I think I said my piece. I think Vanessa might have had a little bit of personal bias in that scenario or at least I kind of detected that. I don’t know. But that’s just my assumption based on how she continued to drill into it after I gave my full rationale for why I felt the way that I did.”

But the biggest point of contestation regarding Vanessa is how she repeatedly begged for a ‘Love Is Blind baby’. Pushing procreation in a world where so many struggle with fertility obviously rubbed many the wrong way:

Vanessa has turned comments off on her Instagram suggesting she is aware of the outrage, but the Lacheys have yet to publicly address the aftermath.

PageSix reported that an official Change.org petition titled “Remove Nick and Vanessa Lachey as the Hosts of Love is Blind” has even garnered more than 18 000 signatures (last time we checked).

Some Twitter users suggested Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, who found love in Season one of the show, should return to the series:
