Footage has emerged of an acrobat losing her grip and crashing to the stage below during a DJ set at this year’s Coachella festival.

The incident shocked audience members and some people reportedly fainted as the performer came crashing down among a set of speakers onstage.

It’s not yet known whether the acrobat sustained serious injuries, but EMT personnel rushed to the stage and the woman was later evacuated via ambulance.

According to The Daily Mail, this is not the first accident to befall a Coachella staff member, as three years ago a rigger working on a stage setup also fell to his death.

Held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, the Coachella Festival unfolds over two weekends and hosts a wide range of artists, from rock and indie bands to mainstream pop performers.
