Princess Charlene of Monaco has vehemently denied the ‘malicious rumours’ swirling around about her split from husband Prince Albert, saying that ‘everything is fine’.
The latest rumours have been given new life due to her absence from the glittery Rose Ball recently held at Monte-Carlo’s Salle des Etoiles.
Whereas most of the Grimaldi royal family were in attendance, our own swimming export was nowhere to be seen.
The ball is an important charity event: Princess Caroline, Prince Albert’s older sister, is president of the Princess Grace Foundation which supports emerging performers in film, theatre and dance.
French publication Royauté reported that the couple was having some marital issues, again, and this time they quoted sources as saying that a split was on the cards. The allegations appear to have finally made Charlene gatvol and she spoke exclusively to YOU from Monaco’s Pink Palace, saying that she was tired of these wild rumours.
“The false allegations and narrative that certain media are propagating are very disappointing and hurtful to me.”
You have to feel for the lady as she has to constantly convince the world that she and the Prince are happily married. Although saying ‘everything is fine’ is usually not the most convincing argument. Princess Charlene has however decided to take the publishers of Royauté to court.
This would be the first time she sues a publication, perhaps following the example of the Spare Prince from across the pond.
Charlene is boldly stepping up and saying she’s not going to take this anymore. She also wants to protect her twins.
Despite being seen without her engagement ring recently, the couple did step out together at the Monte-Carlo Woman of the Year Awards soon after the Rose Ball, with Charlene’s finger once again sporting a ring.

Regarding her absence from the Rose Ball, Chantell Wittstock, the princess’ South African spokesperson said it was normal for the princess to remove her ring for practical reasons, so nothing should be read into it.
Seem legit.
“Charlene was in Dubai at the time where she’s in the process of setting up her charity foundation. She’s hands-on with it and it’s not the first time she’s missed the Rose Ball for work. She has the full support of Albert, and any speculation suggesting otherwise is totally false.”
As the other famous Benoni-bred blonde, Princess Charlene seems to be walking a very unforgiving tightrope as the tiniest frown is often gobbled up by the European press as a sign of marital doom. The poor lady can be forgiven for being a bit miffed at all the stories.
Perhaps it is Prince Albert’s checkered past with the ladies and his several illegitimate kids that is causing these rumours to spread so quickly.
We don’t know the guy personally, but as long as he treats our Olympic champion like the princess she is, we’re good. He does look a bit like an adult baby though, but that is most likely just the result of all that royal blood boomeranging around the family tree.
“Things couldn’t be going better with her at the moment,” a family friend told YOU. “Albert adores her, she’s happy and fulfilled in her work, her children are thriving. These accusations really hurt her. She lives for Albert, her children and her work and yet over and over again she has people still saying these horrible things about her.”
Although Monaco’s military defence is still the responsibility of France, the Grimaldi family has ruled the tiny state since ‘purchasing’ it from the Crown of Aragon in 1419. Monaco has been governed under a constitutional monarchy since 1911, with Prince Albert being the Sovereign Prince of Monaco and head of state since Prince Rainier III died in 2005.
Eish, royalty darem.
