South African authorities have been on a wild goose chase after realising that convicted murderer and serial rapist Thabo Bester had escaped prison after faking his suicide. Known as the “Facebook rapist” for luring women into his evil clutches after making grand promises to them on social media, Bester faked his death to get out of serving a life sentence for murder and rape at the Mangaung Correctional Centre in the Free State.
Despite it being obvious how capable this man is of devastating manipulation (and far worse), celebrity aesthetician Nandipha Magudumana has kept close ties to Bester, claiming to be his customary law wife, and allegedly assisting him with his prison break scheme and fraudulent business pursuits all the way through, too.
The terrible pair had finally been nabbed in Tanzania, together with a Mozambican national who was allegedly assisting them, as they were making their way to Kenya, it is believed.
As South Africans were contending with the fact that our justice system is basically non-working, Thabo and Dr Nandi snuck from their luxury Sandton home (where they had apparently neglected to pay rent for some time) after being spotted at Woolies, past a couple of borders, and into Tanzania.
Two men – including the father of the socialite-doctor and a 39-year-old former G4S employee (from the security company hired to guard the prison Thabo escaped from) – were arrested in connection with the daring prison escape of the convicted rapist and murderer, noted The Citizen.
They were taken in over this past Easter/Pesach/Ramadan weekend, charged with aiding and abetting a convicted prisoner to escape from lawful custody, and are due to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court today.
When “Mzansi’s Bonnie & Clyde” were caught, they apparently had several passports containing multiple identities in their possession.

Bester was found with documents allowing him to pretend to be Tommy William Kelly, an American citizen, but he actually apparently had at least 19 fictitious names that he was travelling under when he was arrested.
Meanwhile, his paramour Dr Nandi is said to have assumed the identity of her fellow doctor Mmereka Patience Martha Ntshani.
As it stands, questions have been raised about the relationship between Dr Nandi and Dr Pashy, as the anaesthetist based in Pretoria is affectionately called. The Citizen has more:
From social media posts and newspaper articles, it is clear that Dr Nandipha and Dr Pashy have met before. However, it is unclear what the extent of their relationship was.
Dr Pashy said she is seeking legal advice after learning that Dr Nandi “stole” her identity and has denied receiving money from her, but Saffas aren’t having any of it.
The thing is, in October 2020, Ntshani hosted the Dr Pashy Foundation and Power Woman Inc Present Power Women Talk Dinner at the Houghton Hotel in Houghton Estate.
It seems the women who were invited – renowned actress Terry Pheto, Blood and Water star Natasha Thahane and Malaika band member Tshedi Mholo – have all been involved in some kind of scandal at some point or another (except Mholo):
Allegedly tax payers monies were used to sponsor Natasha’s studies abroad. Terry Pheto allegedly scammed Lotto SA. Dr Pashy’s character questioned over identity theft. Dr Nandipha allegedly stole dead bodies. This poster tried to warn us of these women.

You can read more about each of their corruption antics over at The South African and The Citizen.
SA Police Service (SAPS) are waiting for Interpol to facilitate Dr Nandi and Bester’s return to South Africa, where the mother of two will be charged with aiding and abetting a criminal to evade justice, along with fraud, money laundering, and possibly murder charges.
Apparently Dr Nandipha Magudumana insured 3 unclaimed bodies (claimed were father, brother, husband) and collected insurance hence the fraud charges. Something like R1.5m each.

It’s so hectic how the famed doctor traded in her lucrative business and beautiful family for a life on the run with a monster.
As for Thabo Bester’s deep corruption and manipulation? All of it is neatly outlined here.
