I speak from experience when I say the hours before a proposal of marriage to your intended victim partner are some of the most nerve-racking moments of your life. Will she say yes? Will she laugh in your face? Will a burly security guard blindside tackle you like Bakkies Botha?
Ok, so the last one was never part of my stress, but for the poor guy who chose a Major League Baseball game at Dodgers Stadium, the Bakkies Botha part hit hard. Really hard.
The video shows the man choosing his moment well, with little sign of security around, before jumping the fence and running onto the pitch for a few yards. Once in full view of his fiance-to-be, he can be seen taking a knee and offering a ring to someone in the stadium.
It was all Awww until two security guards came running full-tilt from either side, the one managing to get in a full-on rugby tackle that sent the man and the ring flying. Crunch!

So far there has been no news on whether his girl accepted his proposal, but considering the hit he took for her, we hope she said yes.
Despite how you feel about the spontaneous public proposal, we have to admit that poor Romeo didn’t deserve the treatment he was given. But at least he didn’t have to run out of a packed stadium like the poor sod below.
My own proposal went much smoother, despite my fiance swallowing the ring I put in her champagne. However, the next two days were some of the most romantic we ever spent locked in a bathroom.
Just me, her, a box of laxatives, and some good wine. Ahh love…
