A Colombian woman whose husband was murdered, spent years seducing the alleged killer in order to gather enough evidence to ensure that he can be successfully prosecuted.
Now before you read on, take a moment to think about what an emotional ordeal it must have been for the woman to spend years pretending to fall in love with her husband’s killer, just so that she could see justice being done.
This is as much a story about a woman’s love for her man as it is about vengeance, and we would be amazed if this isn’t turned into a Netflix series before the end of the year. Somebody get Uma Thurman on the line.
According to an article in IOL, the unnamed Colombian widow spent years getting close to suspected criminal boss Rubén Darío Viloria Barrios, who was identified as the main suspect in her husband’s killing.
The unnamed woman, according to authorities in Cordoba, Colombia, spent years becoming acquainted with the supposed criminal, Rubén Darío Viloria Barrios
Viloria Barrios is your standard bad guy who deals in assassinations, drugs, and weapons. But even though he oversaw the transport of drugs, guns, and ammunition to Central America and the US, (and regularly assassinated friends and competitors alike), he was still highly regarded in his hometown of Ciénaga de Oro.
It was this public persona that the widow exploited to infiltrate his inner circle. After years of cosying up to him, Viloria Barrios grew fond of the woman eventually the criminal genius began to confide in his paramour.
Over time, the woman built up enough evidence of Viloria Barrios’s criminal activities to approach the authorities and in a scene, we can already picture in our minds, she directed the police to a planned meeting between Viloria Barrios and other alleged criminals.
Her husband’s killer was arrested and sentenced to 22 years in prison, bringing to a close a tragically heroic revenge story.Run credits.
