Congratulations are in order for Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Amelia Spencer and her newly minted husband, Greg Mallett.
The pair tied the knot in a mountaintop ceremony here in South Africa, a country that is close to their hearts as they met as students at the University of Cape Town.
Lady Amelia, daughter of Princess Diana’s brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, and her three siblings — elder sister Kitty, twin sister Eliza and younger brother Louis — grew up here, too.
Lady Amelia and Greg both teased the upcoming nuptials in an Instagram post, with them posing lovingly against a backdrop of Cape Town’s stunning mountainscape, suggesting the wedding would take place here too.
Indeed, per Hello Magazine, “bathed in the golden glow of the setting South African sun” the pair said “I do”:
“It was genuinely the best day of our lives. It was better than I ever imagined,” Amelia, 30, the niece of Diana, Princess of Wales, tells HELLO! of their spectacular day, which took place on 21 March on a mountaintop in the winelands of South Africa’s Western Cape, at Quoin Rock Manor House.
“I’ve been waiting 14 years to see Amelia walk down the aisle. To be married is a dream come true,” adds fitness and nutrition coach Greg, 33.
Check out all the exclusive photos from the day, showing Amelia in a custom Atelier Versace wedding dress:

As you can imagine, that dress is far from average:
Her gown was crafted, over the course of two and a half months, from custom silk rebrodé lace and featured a two-and-a-half-metre train, Swarovski crystals, a hand-embroidered neckline and structured shoulders, with intricate flower patterns running throughout.
All that was topped off with an elegant five-metre-long veil made out of fine silk tulle and Jimmy Choo shoes. Scroll to see more:

Amelia acknowledged that her late aunt Diana, a close friend of Gianni Versace and a wearer of his designs, would have been delighted with her dress choice:
“I think [Diana] would be very proud to see me on my wedding day,” says Amelia, who was only five years old when Diana passed away in 1997. “I know the Versace family also absolutely love Diana, so there’s a very special connection that we have.”
The semi-royal bride was joined by her twin sister Lady Eliza, who served as maid of honour wearing a custom Versace pale pink silk satin slip dress, older sister and bridesmaid Lady Kitty, radiant in Dolce & Gabbana, her younger brother Samuel Aitken and her mother Victoria.
While her father Charles couldn’t make it to the ceremony, she was walked down the aisle by her younger brother Samuel.
In her vows, Amelia mentioned that Greg has always been her soulmate, and while she is delighted to have finally tied the knot with him, “nothing’s going to be different going forward”.
Greg was all heart eyes saying, “My love for Amelia has been reborn. Every day I fall more in love with this beautiful human by my side”.
Ag cuuute man.
